Main Street Director
Elly Boone
Elly Boone is a life-long resident of Goliad. Her husband Roy and her have been married since 2016 and are raising their active, strong -willed daughter, Lilyth. Elly graduated Goliad High School in 2010 and attended Victoria College where she got her basics and studied Art and Design. Elly has her career diploma in Interior Decorating and a background in Art, Interior Design, Construction, Marketing, and Management. She was the Manager, HR, Market, & Commercial Design Rep at an Interior Design Firm in Victoria for almost 4 years (CII: Custom Interiors, Inc.) before she took a few years off to focus on her health. She previously worked at the Goliad Chamber of Commerce for over 2 years as the Events Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. She is an active member of the Amigos of the Goliad State Park where her daughter and her enjoy visiting regularly. "Goliad means so much to me, being raised here and raising my daughter here, I just love to see our community inspire one another."

Jason Howard
Jason is the Minister of Worship and Church Administration for FBC Goliad. He currently serves as the Vice President of the GISD School Board of Trustees.
He is a graduate of Samuel Clemens High School (San Antonio, TX) and of Angelo State University (San Angelo, TX). Jason was the Director of Fine Arts for Goliad ISD and before that he was the Director of Bands and Assistant Director for San Saba ISD. He also served GISD as their Theatre Director.
As a musician, Jason has performed with many different ensembles throughout the years which include: the West Texas Jazz Orchestra, Dan’s Big Band, San Angelo Symphony, Orquesta & Ballet Folklorica from Tec de Monterrey in Chihuahua, Mexico, San Angelo Community Band, Heights Concert Band, Victoria Community Band, the Victoria Jazz Ensemble, the Victoria All-Stars Jazz Band, the Crossroads Jazz Band, the Other Guys Big Band, along with many of the performing ensembles and Musical Theatre Orchestras at Angelo State University.
Jason and his wife Sharon have been married for 15+ years and have a son (John) who is in the Army National Guard and a daughter (Clara) who is a student at GMS.

Abigail Headstream
Abigail Headstream is a passionate supporter of small businesses and the historic charm of downtown Goliad. With a background in Human Resources and business, she brings both organizational insight and creative energy to supporting local entrepreneurs and community events.
Currently a graduate student and a Director of Personnel and Business Operatives , Abby enjoys using marketing, storytelling, and social media to highlight the unique shops, restaurants, and people that make Goliad special. She is also the owner of a small home bakery, where she channels her love of creating into baked goods shared with the community.
Abby originally earned a degree in music and has always carried that creative spirit into everything she does—from business and community involvement to entrepreneurship. When she’s not working, studying, or promoting local businesses, Abby enjoys gardening, baking, and knitting, and believes the best small towns are built through connection, collaboration, and supporting one another. ♥️

Peggy Cowey
Peggy Cowey is a true Goliad Native, she was born and raised in Goliad County. She is a proud graduate of Goliad High School Class of '69. Peggy was a business owner in Goliad and is now a retired cosmetologist. She is a member of the Goliad County Historical Commission and has been highly involved with the new growth of the Annual Christmas in Goliad Event. In her spare time Peggy also volunteers at the Goliad Market House Museum and greets visitors from all across America teaching them about our quarterly rotating displays. She has also solely organized the Wreaths Across America to honor Veterans at St. Andrews Lutheran Church Cemetery. Peggy loves to dine downtown and go to the beautiful shops with her kids and grandkids. One of her favorite events to host in Downtown Goliad with the Main Street Program is the highly anticipated Christmas Tree Project and 4th of July event.

Ida Hernandez
Ida Hernandez was born and raised in Goliad. She is a Goliad High School graduate Class of 1982. Ida has been married to her High School sweet Luis Hernandez for 40 years. The two of them were recipients of the 2019 Volunteer of the Year presented by the City of Goliad. Ida is a member of the Goliad Zaragoza Society and has been a Main Street Goliad Board member for 5 years. She loves the quaint atmosphere that Goliad has to offer all of the unique shops on the square. Her favorite event is the Halloween Scare on the Square. She is an expert at creating extra spooky haunted houses for the public to enjoy and get a fright. Ida loves how Main Street Goliad is evolving and bringing new and exciting events/projects to Downtown Goliad. She is proud to be apart of this movement!

Shelia Edwards
Meet Shelia Edwards, our hometown girl. Shelia is a graduate of Goliad High School and a 1986 graduate of Southwest Texas State University. She worked for several Texas state agencies in various roles in the North Texas, Central Texas and South Texas areas. Shelia recently retired but never stopped working. In addition to Main Street Goliad, Shelia serves as the secretary for the Goliad ISD school board, chairperson of the Goliad County Library Board, member of the Goliad Lion’s Club, a service organization, formerly a member of Goliad Education Foundation, current VBS Director at the Minnehulla Baptist Church as well as their music director and outreach chair. Shelia is active in mission work and has traveled throughout the United States and abroad, volunteering to assist others and ministering musically. Shelia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, another service organization. She volunteers with the Goliad Ministerial Alliance and works part time as office manager for the Goliad Methodist Church . In addition to all of this, Shelia volunteers at the local schools in the surrounding communities and is often invited to serve as a motivational or historic speaker. Shelia, like many other Goliad natives, love the small-town environment. The feeling of community is too much to resist. Working on the Goliad Main Street Board is the perfect opportunity to share all the treasures Goliad has to offer.

Linda Rodriguez
Lived in Goliad since 1979; worked with Goliad ISD/Refugio ISD Sp. Ed. Dept for over 35 years; love to meet new friends, cook, garden, paint. We have hosted over 18 foreign exchange students in our home. Married to Luis Rodriguez for 25+ years and have 3 kids and 1 grandchild. Love Main Street to promote historic Goliad and help make it greater and better for generations to come.

Jacque Rojas
Jacque Rojas was born and raised in Goliad! She graduated from Goliad High School in 1999 and from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Minor is Psychology & Art. She has worked as a Speech Therapist for the past 20 years and currently works for Goliad ISD! Jacque is 1 of 3 siblings in her family and the daughter of Luis & Linda Rodriguez. She is also a Dog Mom to 3 Chi-Winnie’s, Paco, Penny, and Peanut!
As a proud Goliad Native, Jacque is very involved in her community. She is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she sings in the church choir, is a Eucharistic Minister, has served as Court Regent and currently serves as Recording Secretary of the Catholic Daughters of the America, Court #2386, Our Lady of Loreto. Jacque also serves as on Officer of the General Ignacio Zaragoza Society, is a member of the Lion’s Club International of Goliad and is on the Board of Friends of the Fort.
In her spare time Jacque enjoys reading, journaling, watching sporting events, scrapbooking, photography, going to the movies, fishing, and floating down the Frio River with her family. She excited and ready to be a new MainStreet Board Member!!
